When Allen Gordon’s United Nations position took him to Papua New Guinea, he and his wife became AIMers, poured themselves into the Lord’s work, and began a Bible school in the nation’s southern region. After his three-year, UN contract expired, the Gordons attended Christian Life College in Stockton, California. He stated, “A couple of months before our June 1996 graduation from CLC, God gave us a really urgent burden for the Solomon Islands [Jean Gordon’s homeland] and brought confirmation through a number of sources.” Upon the Roscoe Seays’ departure as resident missionaries, the Gordons gave leadership to the church. Their Master’s degrees—his in education and hers in international law—aided them in their new positions. The Gordons received their missionary appointment in October 1999. He is the president of the Bible college, pastors the Honiara church, provides leadership training and development, and plants churches.
