Howard Smith
Spain
Howard and Vonda Smith received their appointment to Bolivia in October 1989 and arrived on the field in December 1991. He pastored the headquarters church in La Paz, where he instituted cell ministry. Through this effort three new churches were opened. In their second term, Smith was appointed as the Bolivian home missions director. Besides pastoring the headquarters church, he enjoyed opening new works within the country. During this time property was purchased and a new church was built in La Paz. Later the Lord began to deal with the Smiths about changing fields, and they were appointed to Spain in 1999. Living in Barcelona, they established a new work, opened a Bible school, and acted as supervisor for the Northern Region of Spain. The Smiths plan to move to southern Spain to pioneer a new area for the gospel.
